Trieste, March 28, 1876
Dear Berganza,
Here I am in Tergeste. Believe me, Your Honor, writing would be by far the silliest thing I could do. I shall tell you all about it by word of mouth. I would like to read some brief lines from you, but do not ask for any from me. Know then, that Trieste is a very beautiful city and that the beasts are very beautiful beasts.
