Dear friend,
Today everything has come at once: a letter from Bleuler, his answer to a telegram of mine, and the Jahrbuch with the Apologia.1 I hasten to acquaint you with the state of affairs.
Bleuler writes that he will arrive in Munich on' Sunday morning at 6 (my son says 6:55) and asks where we should meet and when I intend to leave. The latter question succeeded in embarrassing me. I wired as follows: Accept with thanks, inquire length your stay Munich. The answer has just come: Regret have only two days in all. My wise women think this means he will be leaving Monday mid-day (1:50) since he would hardly want to spend two nights on the train. If he did, he would have to leave at 11 Monday night at the latest. I shall stay on in Munich and wait for you. If you leave Zürich Monday afternoon, you will arrive in the evening; at the worst you will have to keep out of sight for a few hours. I shall stay at the Park Hotel, to which of course I shall direct him.
I have only been able to leaf through the Apologia, it arrived an hour ago. But it is amazing how he works off his misbehaviour in his private dealings, which enables him to stand up very well in his public activity. I believe the piece will be enormously helpful. His questionable ideas seem to have taken refuge in the last section. But it's distinguished and very good.
Auf Wiedersehen. I shall thank you in person for this volume.
Yours, FREUD
