Dear friend,
I have now read Silberer's paper. I can't see why Bleuler should be up in arms. It is a sensitive piece of psychological miniature painting, in the manner known to us from his earlier work, as modest and thoughtful as a paper on such a subject could be. I believe that the functional phenomenon has now for the first time been demonstrated with certainty, and from now on I shall take it into account in interpreting dreams. Essentially it is pretty much the same thing as my “endopsychic perception.”1 I definitely urge you to accept the paper. — What shall I do with the manuscript?
Gross has written me a furious letter demanding that I return his article “In Self-Defense.” Which I have done.
I am meeting Ferenczi in Bozen during the Easter holidays.2
With kind regards,
Yours, FREUD

Bozen is now the Italian Bolzano. / Easter was 16 Apr.
