Dear Professor Freud,
I entirely agree with the changes you have suggested for the contract.1 Would you please send the copies of the contracts back to me as soon as you have finished with them, as they are my only copies.
I am grateful for your collaboration on the Jahrbuch and share your views about the articles chosen by Bleuler.1a Bleuler did the editing himself during my absence.
I have just had a letter from Bleuler asking whether I would be willing to print Kronfeld's reply2 to Rosenstein's (I must say, excellent) critique in the Jahrbuch. I think we should do so as a sign of absolute tolerance.
Kraus has treated me scurvily. First he offered me hysteria for his textbook.3 Then he gave me neurasthenia, which I declined because I know too little about it and don't believe in it anyway. I am extremely glad to be rid of this burden as I have better things to do.
I have written an article for the Internat. Zeitschrift in which I have tried to clarify our position with reference to a remark by Tausk in his criticism of Nelken.4 Basically it is a mere difference of interpretation and not a questioning of the facts.
With best regards,
Most sincerely yours, JUNG
A letter from Freud is apparently missing. For the contract between the Central Office and Freud, see appendix 6.
