Internationale Psychoanalytische Vereinigung
Küsnach-Zürich, 3 March 1913
Dear Professor Freud,
This is to let you know that tomorrow I have to go to America for 5 weeks.1 All the necessary arrangements have been made with Deuticke for the Jahrbuch. I have referred him to you should anything out of the ordinary happen. The last manuscripts to be sent to the printer are “New Dream Experiments” by Dr. J. Stärcke, Amsterdam, and my American lectures. These are really quite tame and in no way deserve the hullabaloo they have created. I have expressed in them only a few divergent opinions.
Pfister informs me that Adler has sidled up to him with the proposition that they make common cause against you. This manoeuvre has been rebuffed with indignation here.
I have talked with Maeder again and we have come to the conclusion that we don't want to push ourselves forward in any way. We are quite willing to fall in with another, better suggestion.
Hoche's circular2 has come into our hands. Maeder is going to send it to you for publication in the Internat. Zeitschrift. It is important that this be done as soon as possible, i.e., before the Congress, so that people can see just how Hoche covers up his lack of experience.
I have also received the paper from Graz.3 It would seem that dawn is gradually breaking in psychiatry.
With best regards,
Most sincerely yours, JUNG
