IX., Berggasse 19
Dearest Wilhelm,
I could not make up my mind to send off the letter before I could give you definite news about E. The operation was postponed to Saturday and is just now over. It was nothing, and nothing was done. Gussenbauer palpated the cavity and pronounced everything to be normal; he supposes the bleeding was only from granulation
tissue; she is spared any disfigurement. They will continue to pack her [nose]; I shall try to keep her off morphine. I am glad that none of the bad expectations has materialized. Now I hope to hear from you soon again.
Cordial greetings.
Your
Sigm.
