IX., Berggasse 19
Dearest,
Am letting you know that after prolonged mental labor I believe I have penetrated to an understanding of pathological defense, and thereby to many important psychological processes. Clinically, it all fitted together long ago, but the psychological theories I needed were arrived at only very laboriously. I hope it is not “dream gold.”
It is not anywhere near ready yet, but I can at least talk about it
and with regard to many points avail myself of your superior scientific education. It is bold but beautiful, as you will see. I very much look forward to telling you about it — that is, of course, if your treatment leaves me with enough strength. Frau Ida will see to it that I stop when I have tortured you too much.
With the most cordial greetings to the entire little family,
Your
Sigm.
