IX., Berggasse 19
Dear Wilhelm,
Your manuscript arrived, will be read with the utmost eagerness today, and will be in your hands by the end of the week. Deuticke is out of town; I shall speak to him when he returns and see to it that he writes to you. Mathilde is very well in Sulz; Martin and Ernst had only angina [tonsillitis] without sequelae; the Janus temple is now closed.1 Annerl laughs all day long. I am somewhat miserable; probably influenza. I cannot guess at what Breuer has contrived with regard to the neurasthenia etiology. I shall write soon again. Today I merely greet all three of you most cordially.
Your
Sigm.
The closing of the gates to the temple of the Roman god Janus signified peace.
