Vienna, May 17, 1896
Dear Wilhelm,
The wedding excitement1 is just over. The couple left, reawakening all sorts of memories of September 6. Everyone was delighted; he is an excellent man and has no motive other than long-standing affection, but we all are very tired. Many thanks for your warm
congratulations on behalf of the couple and myself. For me it was a ray of sunshine in winter.
The loveliest part of the wedding, by the way, was our Sopherl—with curled hair and a wreath of forget-me-nots on her head.
I hope you are not troubling yourself too much with the remarks against Löw[enfeld]. The relevant line is “lends his own periodicity.”2 Naturally, I cannot find the paper right now.
Most cordial greetings to you and Ida.
Yours,
Sigm.
With the 12th, the courage to face life returned. Critical dates in April: 6 and 12.
