Prof. Dr. Freud
Dear Dr. Binswanger,
From the letter I received today from J. v. T., it appears that his depression is over and that he can once again resume his life and his therapy. However, the responsibility of deciding is too great on the basis of his evidence alone. No one but you can decide whether his clinical picture and change of attitude mean he is to be relied on. Please keep him under observation for at least another week. You will then be able to pronounce with certainty.
Kind regards, yours,
Freud

P.S. By some chance that has not yet been explained I have mislaid your contribution to Brodmann's Journal,2 from which I intended to take an example for the third edition of my Everyday Life.3 Could you let me have another copy by way of loan?
‘P.T.O.’ draws attention to the postscript on the back (small size letter paper).
