Binswanger described this visit in his Reminiscences of a Friendship (1956c), pp. 4-8 in the 1957 English edition, for which he used a manuscript written down soon after the visit. This manuscript still survives. Binswanger made corrections and deletions to it in preparation for using it in his Reminiscences. Because of its freshness and directness, the text of this original manuscript (under the title Visit to Vienna 15-26 January1 1910), without corrections and deletions, is reproduced in the Appendix to the present volume, pp. 229-34.
Binswanger erroneously gave the month as February in his Reminiscences.
