Prof. Dr. Freud
Dear Dr. Binswanger,
I am very glad to have had fresh proof of the effectiveness of psychoanalysis and of the saying that the analyst should not be alone but should cultivate the friendship component. As the leader of the Zurich group your name could not have been missing from the list of contributors to the Zentralblatt without feeding rumours of a divergence between Vienna and Zurich.
I am very comfortable here but looking forward to 1 August when I shall join my womenfolk in Noordwijk. Kind regards to Frau Gr.1
Very sincerely, Your fast recovered, Freud
P.S. The Short Papers: [on the Theory of the Neuroses] first published in 1906, are now ready for a second edition.2 That is our answer to the ‘demolitions’ of psychoanalysis. However, I have no idea why the Jahrbuch has still not appeared!3
Presumably a patient of Freud and Binswanger.
