Prof Dr. Freud
Dear Dr. Binswanger,
Actually I am not at all unhappy that Oppenheim has borne out my opinion of your prospectus.1 After all, I did not deliver it gladly.
You are really doing yourself an injustice if you do not add the psychoanalytic complex as a third to the two complexes2 you mention. Let me know when you again have time to take patients on for analysis; the last ones went to Maeder.
Over Easter I went to Bolzano,3 where I roasted in the sun. For the moment things seem to be a little quieter in both my practice and in the polemical field. The difficulties in Vienna ought to resolve themselves through a reconciliation with Stekel and our dropping of Adler. The review I am to write of Stekel's dream book4 for the Jahrbuch will therefore be a little more conciliatory, though I shall not swallow any necessary strictures. The lack of ideas and critical acumen in this work, which is otherwise so valuable, annoys me a great deal. He is unteachable, but the decent fellow in him keeps coming through.
