Prof. Dr. Freud
Dear Dr. Binswanger,
I hasten to reply that I accept your dedication with thanks. I shall be proud to have you acknowledge yourself publicly as my pupil. I nearly added that I am also proud to find my name and Bleuler's mentioned together in this context. But I cannot deny that Bleuler's coming to a full stop in exploring the depths of the psyche and his incorrigible ambivalence have resulted in his being considerably lowered in my esteem.
Needless to say I am eagerly looking forward to your book and should tell you straightaway that from 15 July to 15 August it can reach me at Villa Wassing, Badgastein. But how much more pleased I will be to see the second volume
Many thanks once more for your kind invitation; the four of us are still unable to travel to Switzerland.
Please give your wife our kind regards. By now you must have a considerable number of children romping about.
As ever,
Freud
