Prof. Dr. Freud
Dear Dr. Binswanger,
On my return to Vienna five weeks ago I was very glad to learn from your letter that you, your wife and your flock of children are all well.
Dr. Prinzhorn gave us a most interesting lecture,1 in which, however, he kept off the subject of analysis. He personally made a good impression.
I am glad that despite my great age you give me hope of living to see the first volume of your work. Let us hope that the second does not put my stamina to too hard a test.
Your excellent clinic accommodates at present - as well as my old patient Gi. - someone in whom I am interested both because of his perceptive writings and also because he is the cousin of one of my closest women friends (formerly a patient): Prof. V. of I. May I ask you what is wrong with him and if you think he will ever be able to return to his work?
With kind regards,
Yours, Freud
