Prof. Dr. Freud
Dear Dr. Binswanger,
I thank both you and your wife most sincerely. It is unnecessary to use a great many words to do so. Although it is true that I have enjoyed many a good thing in my life, on the whole it has been hard. I have been only too willing to become fond of others, as I am of you, for instance, but many people have made that impossible.
This year we are not going to the Semmering but have rented a place in Berchtesgaden (Schneewinkellehen) where we intend to go on 15 June.2
Very cordially yours, Freud
