Dear Professor Freud,
I read your last two articles in the International Journal of Psycho-Analysis with great interest and pleasure.1 I also recently read your daughter's book;2 it is very clearly and meticulously written and I have learnt a number of things from it.
The purpose of these lines is for me to let you know that you would be welcome to come here as soon as you feel the need for a change of air.3 Last night I rang Pastor Pfister to find out more about your state of health, but he had no further details. You know, of course, that your Swiss friends are thinking of you and are ready to help at any time.
My wife and I have such very pleasant and abiding memories of our last visit to you, and both send you our kind regards.
In old loyalty and friendship,
Yours, [L. Binswanger]
