My dear Children
Good, it shall be as you wish. Of course I am enormously pleased about the promised visit and for this very reason don't
wish to exercise any undue influence. Perhaps Mama takes the food problem too seriously. I am sure it will work out all right; we will do all we can and Sophie will no doubt realize that at other times we would receive her differently.
You mustn't take your insecurities too seriously. This is the way things are nowadays and some people's fate at the present moment is even more checkered. You are young; for you it is just an episode.
I began consultations today, without much enthusiasm. It will be at least a week before I really get back into work. A little work is only upsetting.
Ernstl's1 next installment can still be expected before the end of the year from the royalties in German marks on the fifth edition of the Everyday Life.
Let us keep cheerful and not take things too much to heart. Hindenburg has just said that our prospects are good.
With fond greetings to all three of you
Papa
