Dear Mr. Zweig
Having found some peace here at last, I realize that I owe you thanks for the excellent book1 which I found waiting for me and which I have read in spite of the rush of the first two weeks. I have read it with exceptional pleasure, otherwise there would hardly be any point in writing to you about it. The perfection of empathy combined with the mastery of linguistic expression left me with a feeling of rare satisfaction. What interests me especially are the accumulations and the increasing intensity with which your language keeps groping closer to the most intimate nature of the subject.
It is like the accumulation of symbols in a dream which allow what is concealed to come glimmering through with ever-increasing clarity.
