Vienna IX, Berggasse 19
15 May 1908
My dear Colleague,
I thank you, and shall not forget that you have allowed me this influence. I hope that you too will be satisfied.
I await your paper in its revised form and shall duly submit it to the publisher.
Our Jahrbuch is secured, under favourable conditions, and is to appear in two half-volumes; the decision still hovers between Deuticke and Marhold.1 The first issue shall contain a survey of the hitherto published ψanalytic works. Jung will deal with the publications from Zurich, Maeder with the French, Jones2 with the English-speaking literature, and the purely negative and hostile achievements will, I think, be referred to a special reviewer. For the Vienna publications, mine included, and the contributions from Germany, Jung has suggested you, so that I can now inquire directly of you whether you will accept.3 If my publications are too much of a burden for you, I can shift the load to Rank, who is, as it is, very well attuned to me, though his Matura4 is just ahead. The reviews will, of course, be paid for, 50 marks a sheet.5 I shall probably contribute a case history in each half-yearly issue.6
With cordial greetings and thanks,
Yours,
Freud
Carl Marhold, publisher in Halle am Saale, Germany.
