Dear Colleague,
Many thanks for the notice about your work, the arrival of which I need not confirm to you.
I am especially glad that you have accepted the task of doing an authentic survey of the Viennese literature [perhaps also the German]1
for the Jahrbuch, as, in this case, it is mainly I who am under consideration. I think brevity will be very desirable. Perhaps you will also allow me to read the reviews dealing with my works in manuscript so as to shorten or emphasize. Herr Rank will be told next Wednesday to contact you and to send you a complete list of the other Viennese contributions along with the contributions themselves, from our private library or from the authors.
The first half-volume should appear on 1 January 1909. So you have time with the manuscript until October. Everything else is in order. Deuticke has gone through a great deal of trouble to get the publication. Bleuler will, I hope, as co-editor, now feel committed and disprove your bad prognosis. His paper on dementia præcox at the Berlin Congress was, it is true, not “fameux”.
My wife has told me a great deal about the cordial welcome she received at your house. I seem to have made a good diagnosis with regard to your family life.
With a friendly greeting,
Yours,
