Dear Professor,
You are indeed wrong. The reason for my silence was illness. During the last few days since I have been up again, I have had no time to write to you, because a great deal of work has accumulated, particularly reports on court cases. My sincere thanks for your kindness, and I hasten to assure you that there is no question of my taking offence. If possible,
I shall write more fully later today.
With kind regards,
your gratefully devoted
Abraham
