Berlin
13 July 1909
Dear Professor,
Today I would like to thank you only briefly for your letter, so as not to go away owing letters. We are leaving in a few days. My address during the next few weeks is: Pension Frl. Dahlerup, Hornbach, Denmark. A meeting in Bremen is unlikely, as I am back in Berlin on the 13th or the 14th. But do you perhaps go through Berlin on the way to Bremen? Otherwise I count on September. I, too, would very much like to make the trip to America. I had no idea that Jung had also been invited.
In contrast to this happy event, unfortunately there has recently been a whole series of the most stupid attacks. The number of publications this year has given the critics plenty to do. Oppenheim's attack in the Berliner Klinische Wochenschrift is very regrettable, and it has already borne fruit. An article with psychoanalytical content was sent back by return of post to a colleague (Wulff, Juliusburger's assistant) by this very journal.—I myself recently spoke on “Psychoanalysis and the Interpretation of Dreams” in a circle of Russian doctors. In October I am to speak in a circle of Oppenheim's assistants. I am planning an attack on a larger scale in the Neurolog[ische] Gesellsch[aft] [Neurological Society] for November.
But now the peace of holidays! I wish you and your esteemed family a very pleasant rest. With kind regards,
your devoted
Abraham
