See you again on the way back!
Yours,
Freud2
Postcard.
Freud, Ferenczi, and Jung met in Bremen on 20 August and departed the following day. After their arrival on the 29th, they first spent a week in New York and then drove to Worcester, Massachusetts, to Clark University. During the following week Freud gave five lectures (Freud, 1910a [1909]), which he sketched out each morning on walks with Ferenczi. At the closing celebration Freud and Jung received honorary Doctor of Laws degrees. After a visit to Niagara Falls and a stay in James Putnam's camp in the Adirondacks, the three men embarked on 21 September and reached Bremen on 29
September. While Jung immediately went home, Freud and Ferenczi stayed briefly in Hamburg and Berlin, where Freud also visited the Abrahams. The trip has been described numerous times (e. g. by Clark, 1980: pp. 264ff; Hale, 1971a; Jones, 1955: pp. 53ff.; the most complete description is by Rosenzweig, 1992; a comprehensive depiction can be found in Freud & Jung, 1974 [1906-13]: pp. 245f).
