Dear Professor,
Yet another boil on my wrist has forced me to make you wait for a reply. Last week I could only attend to the most urgent business affairs with Hitschmann and Rank. Now it is all right again. I hope that in the meantime you have quite recovered; Karlsbad will have to do the rest. At the next opportunity please give me an exact report on how you are!
The Jahrbuch proofs are going quite quickly, but not quickly enough to ensure publication in four weeks, although Deuticke did hold the prospect out to me in a letter. I am eagerly awaiting the alterations to your two articles; I read them again in the proofs with the greatest gratification.
The date of the Congress, 20/21 September, is now as good as decided.—After asking and waiting in vain, I have at last received a report from Zurich for the Korrespondenzblatt. Munich, on the other hand, is on strike. I wish it could be an indication of their resignation! The disorder in the old Central Office verges on the grandiose. No cash report can be got out of Riklin. Putnam's announcement of the founding of a group in Boston1 has been left without a reply. Jung knew absolutely nothing about it. Jones wrote to me that a new group, Ward's Island,2 was accepted by Jung in the autumn. Jung denies knowing about it. It is like that with everything. The contributions @ 3 M. from Munich are showing no signs of coming in. I shall now press a bit harder, so that some order may reign in all respects by the time of the Congress. Next Sunday I am going to Dresden to make the first preparations for the Congress.
