Dear Friend,
The danger about which I wrote in my last letter is fortunately over. My sister-in-law is going into a sanatorium for further convalescence, and we can travel on Sunday evening. You will get my address—which I do not know myself yet—from Karlsbad.
I have the two most difficult weeks of the year behind me and have withstood them well. I note that the bit of sympathy that the friends have been showing me on the occasion of the “bombshell” has, after all, done me a great deal of good. No reaction from Zurich yet! That is to say, were I to be ready ahead of time, it is possible that we may go to one of the North Italian lakes in the week prior to the Congress; it is a very pleasant place to stay with women. Now you will be able to put my remark in its place—you must certainly have misunderstood it.
The Interpretation of Dreams arrived today and will soon be with you.
It will be possible to do something about the papers for Dresden only once we are sure of the non-Swiss. In those people's presence we shall not say one word. In that case premature ejaculation would seem t
