Dear Friend,
Simultaneously with the declaration of war,1 which transforms our peaceful spa, your letter arrives, at last bringing the liberating news. So we are at last rid of them, the brutal, sanctimonious Jung and his parrots! I feel impelled now to thank you for the vast amount of trouble, for the exceptional, goal-oriented activity, with which you supported me and with which you steered our common cause. All my life I have been searching for friends who would not exploit and then betray me, and now, not far from its natural end, I hope I have found them.
