Dear Professor,
These lines are only to ask you how things are with you, especially what news you have of Martin.
All is well with us. At the moment I am very busy again at the hospital. Today I had to do dressings for about eight hours.
Morale here is entirely optimistic. In the West things look brilliant in spite of the difficulties, which are still great. We are now waiting for great events in the East, preceded already by all sorts of rumours. The collaboration of Germans and Austrians will certainly achieve the aim here too. Then England remains to be taken care of; but we put our hopes in Krupp and Zeppelin.
I hope the time will soon come when we can again correspond scientifically in peace. Today is the precise anniversary of the Munich Congress! From this point of view we do feel better now.
With cordial greetings from my wife as well, for you and all your family!
Yours,
Karl Abraham
