Dear Professor,
Certainly your reply was a disappointment for me, but much less so than if I had come to Vienna and then found you in a state in which you were in need of care. So we are postponing our meeting! Whether I come to the Semmering in the summer will have to remain undecided for the present. For I am hoping, provisionally, that you will come to Homburg, and then, perhaps, it would be possible to meet without too many complications. However, to encourage you to come to Homburg, I will tell you—in case you have not heard it direct from Landauer—that the directors of the Spa will put at your disposal and that of your family part of a peacefully situated villa.
