Summary: Adelheid Lucy Koch, née Schwalbe (1896-1980) - A sketch of her life and her emigration. While in Germany little is known about analyst Adelheid Koch, she is one of the most important figures in the history of psychoanalysis in Brazil. After she escaped Nazi Germany with her family in 1936, she almost single-handedly established the IPA-Society SBPSP in São Paulo. This paper uses new material to shed some light on her training and her emigration.
