Summary: »I was doing a lot of work with myself”. Melanie Klein's unpublished Observations after an Operation , preceded by a German version of her text. The author discusses Klein's manuscript. According to her, it represents a building block on the way to the concept of a paranoid-schizoid position (1946), a theoretical milestone of Kleinian thought. Frank explains that it is likely to be (co)founded in Klein's self-analytical work, which can be followed exemplarily on these pages. In addition, it is understood as an expression of an implicit conception of man as a psychosomatic organization.
