This paper will describe the dynamics within and around Authority, Leadership and Peacemaking: The Role of the Diasporas, which applied the group relations conference model to understanding the role of American, Jewish, and Arab Diaspora communities in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It will include a discussion of pre-conference and conference dynamics, and ways they mirrored the larger conflict; innovations and adaptations to conference design; preliminary research findings on the impact of the conference on participants; and considerations for future iterations of the conference. Finally I will reflect on the conference in the context of group relations work and organisations, with implications for group relations work.
