On Translation and/as Transformation

Fulbright Scholar and Professor Emerita of Literature and Sexuality, Women’s and Gender Studies; she has taught most recently at the University of California at Santa Barbara, in the Department of Feminist Studies. She is currently working on a translation from the Brazilian Portuguese of Afro-Brazilian writer Conceiçao Evaristo’s autofiction, Becos da Mémoria, and practicing as a psychoanalytically trained and informed marriage and family therapist and coach in California and New York.
