This study is based on six blind children observed in our Unit for the Blind. It is an attempt to organize and describe by means of the Profile headings what was learned during "periods of observation," analytic treatment, and Diagnostic Profiles about this group of children. For each of the children a Developmental Profile1 was prepared and discussed in the Profile Research Group at the Hampstead Clinic.2

At the time of the assessment the children ranged in age from four to eight and a half years; four of them were between five and six years; one was four, and the other was eight and a half years.
