With this volume the Editors are pleased to inaugurate the Founders Award, presented in honor of the three founders of The Psychoanalytic Study of the Child, Anna Freud, Heinz Hartmann, and Ernst Kris. Sponsored by The Psychoanalytic Study of the Child and The Anna Freud Foundation, the award will be given annually to the author of an original paper that best exemplifies The Psychoanalytic Study of the Child's mission of advancing the psychoanalytic understanding of children from the clinical, developmental, theoretical, or applied research perspective (including neurobiological and genetic contributions).
The recipient of the First Founders Award is “In Her Mother's Voice: Reflections on ‘Femininity’ and the Superego” by E. Kirsten Dahl, Ph.D.
