Rosine Perelberg's text concerning the analyses of women by women opens up pluralassociative paths, both clinical and metapsychological. On the one hand the “homosexual” transference and the excitation that it generates can be defended against by idealization that exacerbates narcissism ; on the other hand, the actualization of anxieties of separation and loss comes up against the melancholic nucleus. Both are likely to be combined within one and the same movement which the author links to a melancholic erotism caught in the twin current of the life drives and the death drives. Finally, the melancholic turning round of hate against the ego and the liberation of homosexual fantasies seeks to mask deadly rivalry with the analyst.
