The author offers an overview, in parallel, of her dual institutional and personal experience of the Lebanese Association for the Development of Psychoanalysis (ALDeP), its founding and its evolution on the one hand, and of her own personal journey on the other. She discusses, among other things, the question of the institutional development of the group in its dynamic and interaction with the IPA sponsoring committee.
The emigration of the author to North America and her quest to do psychoanalytic training in situ in a European country added diversity to her theoretical and clinical baggage and provided her with a certain distance in understanding her personal and institutional analytic journey.
She concludes her text with news about the revolution in the country of implantation of the association and its consequences for analytic practice and the group experience of members and analysts in training.
