The discussion of the Chetrit-Granek report revolves around two major issues: the importation of a foreign concept into the field of psychoanalysis, and psychoanalytic ethics. The author discusses from an epistemological point of view the relevance of importing, in the field of psychoanalysis, a philosophical concept, that of emotional and asymmetrical responsibility for the other, a concept resulting from the philosophy of Levinas. In addition, the author questions the ethical question posed by the authors of the report. The ethical supplement with which the authors of the report endow the analyst can be a source of new conflicts for the patient because of the nature of his own ideals and the quality of his superego.
