Cultural space offers mediations or detours necessary for psychoanalytic reflection. In turn, although in a non-symmetrical way, clinical psychoanalysis can offer a dreamlike space for thinking about cultural phenomena, through equivalences of nature and not of degree. This extension of the Freudian vision concerning the difference in degree rather than nature between what is normal and pathological, which suggests a principle of continuity, is illustrated by a clinical vignette.
