The text raises the question of what a collective healing process after the Shoah might look like. It compares this trauma to that of the destruction of the Second Temple in the first century, which led to a new definition of Jewishness. One possible answer to the question of a new healing process might be to transfer the concept of “post-traumatic growth” that is reported by research into the individual trauma of young Holocaust survivors.
