The adolescence of intellectually precocious subjects reveals a specific use of digital technology which aims to create distance in the relationship with parental figures. This use of a digital object, which often makes parents feel helpless, has value as a boundary. It can be read as a reaffirmation of an older process, linked to the early activation of the ego, leading to a restriction of parental access to the transitional space. This occurs in the context of relationships with parents that the child may experience as invasive. Through a clinical case of a teenager recognized as precocious (according to an intelligence scale), we will see how this boundary, which implies a distancing of objects also present in the transference, has effects on the intelligibility of the psychic functioning of an adolescent. This leads us to look at how the mechanism of intellectualization takes hold of the digital world and more particularly of video games as a space for reaffirming this boundary.
