The text explores the transition from a process of alterity to one of objectalization, in the course of drive development, of sexuality and the difference of the sexes. Four “figures of the other” are encountered that generate shock effects in connection with the difference of the sexes; these effects call for reorganizations of the perception of the world and drive adjustments, and participate in the creation of the object and of objects. The double reversal and the work of the negative are at work.
