This text attempts to question the effects of theoretical signifiers - such as object, other - on the analytic process in the name of our ideas of transformation. The transference and countertransference effects on speech are impregnated by the history of language without our knowledge. The gap between the session, its narrative and its theorization remains problematic. Like a revenant, a survivor can be a paradigm for the Nebenmensch, an untranslatable Germanism of Freud, in its traversal of History and psychoanalytic history, a witness to language and the human, das Mensch. Could the Nebenmensch, this other, represent the metaphor of the ethical conditions of the basic countertransference, the preconditions of the analytic situation and its uncertainties?
