Following on from the comments made in Adela Abella's report on the theme of emotions, the author stresses the need to extend our listening and theoretical concerns to the group and socio-cultural dimension. Any analytical relationship is part of a wider context in which meta-transference and counter-transference unfold. These elements colour the emergence of affects in the session.
