The transference and countertransference dynamics are examined in the light of an initial analysis as part of the training process. Based on the particular situation of an analysis that was suspended for a few months, the author examines the implications of the lateral transferences of the two protagonists, the change of the analytic frame, the meta-frame of the analyst in training, and certain elements of reality. Several retroactive effects allow for different readings that are not mutually exclusive.
