What are we to think about the issues that arise when we encounter a work of art? What role do identifications play? How can we successfully bring together the two fields of psychoanalysis and cultural space? The investigation into Samuel Beckett's play Not I, which has been ongoing since 2021, attempts to shed some light on these questions. The author begins by looking at the issue of identifications, particularly in relation to works of art. This is followed by a presentation of the very short play Not I/Pas Moi, which is fairly representative of the author's literary work. It is precisely this text that has made it possible to initiate an original approach to group listening. Finally, a few hypotheses centred on the emergence and/or resurgence of primordial forms of identification are put forward.
