Rome, September 11, 19131
Dear friend,
As the last one from the previous formation, you should be the first to receive information from the newest. Nothing has been damaged by the well-known fall, other than the wooden container of the inkwell. Meeting in Bologna went according to plan. After endless trip, arrival in Rome 10 minutes to 12 o'clock. Today hot, very hot, sciroccal; but things will soon change, since it has been this way for three days already. It will disappear and make way for normal brightness and beauty. Herr Nisklwead,2 the innkeeper, was with Bircher as a patient, so he knows me and already knows that the Swiss no longer believe, etc. Haven't yet visited Trevi and Moses.3
Kind regards,
Freud
