Share the page for the specific PEP item you want someone to open. A link identifies the content; the recipient still needs any access required to read it.
Link to an article, chapter or video
- Open the item in PEP, rather than leaving it selected in a search-results list.
- Copy its document address. A direct reader link has the form https://pep-web.org/content/IJP.077.0217A, with the document’s own identifier after /content/.
- For a clean document link, keep the origin and /content/ path and omit search-query parameters or a selected-passage fragment. Those additions describe your search or reading position, not the identity of the document.
- Paste the link into your message or reading material. Check that it opens the intended title.
Link to a book or publication
Use the book’s contents page when you want to share the whole book; open the individual chapter when you want a chapter link. The same distinction applies to a journal or volume page and a particular article. Copy the address of the page you intend to share.
If you use a library proxy, a public PEP address may be more useful to readers outside that institution. Recipients should use their own library’s access route where required. Do not share account, session or password-reset links.
Keep sharing separate from saving
Saving an article stores it privately in My research. Citing content creates a bibliographic reference. Neither gives another reader access to your account or subscription. If a link does not open the expected item, contact PEP with the URL.
